Well... there is always a first... and Caylie just happened to be the "first" one to break something!! I know this is nothing to brag about... but she really did a good job too... broke both bones in her forearm!!!Ouch Ouch Ouch poor thing!!
But she was a brave little trooper and got taken very good care of by the EMS and staff at the Children's Hospital!! Her Mommy and Daddy had their hearts rattled a fair bit... (as any parent could well imagine) but all have done a great job dealing with the crisis and life is getting back to normal amazingly quickly!!
When Dylan learned that Caylie was hurt he was very sad and concerned about his best friend. The next morning I suggested to him that we go buy a special gift and go visit her to make her feel better.... Dylan replied... "a special gift... you mean like a bottle of ketchup!!".
(It could have had something to do with the fact that we told him all he was getting for his birthday was a jar of mustard!!)
Anyway, he means well... really he does... but I guess you could say that I have a long way to go in the teachings of "how to treat a girl"!!!
In the end, though... he decided against the ketchup and went for something a little less messy... a mermaid doll that swims, a Cheer Bear carebear, a pack of gum and a cute little card to match her cast!!
Then we went for a visit... Caylie loved her gifts and we even managed to have some ice cream!!
Hugs and kisses to you Caylie and we hope that you heal up really fast!!
Be sure to take it easy... hee hee!!! Ya right... try saying that to a 5 year old!!
xo
Love, the van's!!
